Gravis

I haven't been shredding for a couple days, the snow has been pooched. So, I have been business manning trying to catch up on some stuff before I do nothing in life except, wake up-eat-film-airport-fly-film-eat-advil-bed, repeat for 9 months. But I got a great stack of Gravis kicks for the winter months, stoked!!

Spot Camping Year 4

We camp every year before the season gets cranking for a few reason.

- Its Fun!
- Food cooked by fire is always better.
- Guns, Knife's, Fire and work
- The boys
- Practice our survival techniques out

These are just few of the reasons. This year we built shelters, dug (our Graves) which we burned fire in creating a nice bed of coals, burry that and it makes for a nice heater under you all night long, a great survival tech. Wasn't to cold only about 20 degrees, but it is a good warm up for the real deal if we ever have to go that route. Good times man, good times.

Carhartt/Burton Kit

Dude this Kit is off the charts! The pants will stand alone with no human body inside of them, for 1!! The sickest thing, is just that it's an ill co-op from Burton and Carhartt with traditional Carhartt styling and Burtons Tech. All I am saying is swoop a kit if you can find it. I Know it took me almost a year to swoop one and I am a "top pro" at the big "B"izzie.

Seth and I went to the spot again today and were feeling pretty beat up, we did a little shoveling, but mostly just walked around and looked at eachother. The tinny tranny that I put in yesterday for the log jam was looking fun to try some hand plants on. So we thought we would work on our photo skills as well. we traded off rounds. Seth plant me photo, I plant Seth Photo, crap...! flash batteries died (rookies). Seth pivot I shoot, using tinfoil as a snoot to throw the on camera flash a little. Super fun anyway! Who needs photogs? oooohhhh!! I'll hear bout' that one.

The Spot...Again!

Today was a work day mostly, well for me (riding was hard), I dug up the log jam to tranny. Seth road good trying some new crap and gettin' it. Pat was more on the "day 1" program. He was carving and stuff like that, weird! Anyway it was fun the snow was warm, it didnt freeze at all the night before, not good for the future days. aaggghhhh!

So after Brighton we thought we would top off a good day by making it a great day. Me, Seth and Pat went up to check out the SPOT do a little maintenance for tomorrow. We ended up doing a photo shoot with "Patcole Barashmoore", cause all he had was his 197cm race board for speed runs at the hill so he wanted the "talent" to get busy.

Brighton Opening Day

So it was official today. The season is turned on with our local mountain Brighton opening up! It was a rad day, the snow was a nice northwest wet pack so you could jam through the trees and hit some sweet poppers and not fear to many rock the edge and head to rock collisions. My lovely Bride was out with us hangin' extremely tough and popped of a killer method, first day out! We had a nice chill in the parking lot and Brock hooked us up with his candy. I loved the line ups for the 5 foot fat bar that was literally laying on the ground. This is the direction of snowboarding these days, it's crazy. Don't misunderstand me, please! I love Jibbin' more than most and as much as the others. Opening with 2 feet of wet pack that you cant float right on top and jam through trees, sometimes the line up's for the "jibs" just cracks me up. More for me I guess. Yeah!! '09 is poppin'

Today the spot was poppin off, Brock arguing with "the Boss's" about his status at the spot. Front board off through the Kink and the double line which wears you out real quick, lots of hiking. Super fun gettin' out with the boys and poppin off some early season warm ups.

Seth and I had an insane day yesterday after, well, during a big dump. It was allot of hiking and little shredding, but it was so ill to get out and be thigh deep in Pow.


The drive to the canyon was funny!
